After weeks of rumors and speculation, the Ravens have announced that they will be retaining head coach John Harbaugh through the year 2022. The four-year deal will take effect now and overlap the current contract which has him inked through 2019.

Ultimately, the announcement did not prove to be a distraction as the Ravens went on to defeat the Chargers and then the Cleveland Browns while securing a spot at the top of the AFC North.

Harbaugh will address the media on Friday at 11:00 am. This is the first time he will be speaking to the media since the Ravens Wild Card round loss to the Chargers a few weeks ago. Usually Harbaugh has spoken to the media pretty quickly following the conclusion of the season but the delay this year does makes sense. With his own contract finally signed, Harbaugh can now field more relevant questions about the future of the team rather than his own future. In addition to Harbaugh, new General Manager Eric DeCosta will hold a press conference next Wednesday, January 30 at 11:00 am.
