Welcome to Episode 37 of the Charm City Bird Watch Podcast with site owner Jake McDonnell, editor Nolan McGraw, and author Ian Schultz.

We start the show this week by looking back at Super Bowl 53, the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in NFL history that saw the New England Patriots hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the sixth time after defeating the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 (6:08). You’ll hear our takes on the game, the Patriots dynasty, the Maroon 5 halftime show, and even Trey Wingo losing his marbles over people calling the game ‘boring’.

Up next we welcome in this week’s guest – Scott Garceau, co-host of Scott & Jeremy on 105.7 The Fan (26:39). Garceau is in his 15th year as Baltimore’s representative on the Pro Football Hall of Fame section committee. In Atlanta last week, Garceau gave a presentation on former Ravens safety Ed Reed‘s exceptional career. It was the shortest presentation of the day. Shortly after the meeting, Reed was elected to the Hall of Fame. Jake talked to Scott about what the selection process is like, Reed’s reaction, and being at the Super Bowl.

Following Garceau’s interview, the crew reacts to Reed’s HOF election and looks back on their favorite Ed Reed moments (42:31).

On Episode 24 of the podcast during the Ravens bye week, the guys dished out some mid-season positional grades. A few weeks after Baltimore’s wild card loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, it’s time to revisit those grades and update them for the Ravens postseason positional report card (54:32).

Next up is another look at the Maryland Terps men’s basketball team ahead of Wednesday’s crucial road trip to Nebraska (1:20:17). Following Friday’s 69-61 loss to Wisconsin, the Terps have lost three of four but are still ranked 24th in the country in the latest AP Poll. Wednesday’s 7:00 pm tilt against the Cornhuskers, losers of five straight, provides an opportunity for the Terps to get back on-track. We’ll tell you if we think they can do it.

As usual we ended the show with the numbers segment, taking a look at the best Baltimore sports athletes to wear the number 37 on their jersey (1:33:50).
