We kicked off the show this week with discussing the latest from Orioles Spring Training, particularly the early struggles of Chris Davis (5:55). Davis must have heard what we said, because as we were recording our Maryland segment on, he hit a two-run home run.
Up next we welcomed in this week’s guest, Baltimore Orioles Radio Network Producer / Engineer ‘Tiny’ Tim Jones, also of 105.7 The Fan (23:26). Jake spoke with Tim about what it was like working with Joe Angel, traveling with the team, his favorite cities & ballparks, what goes into producing/engineering an Orioles radio broadcast, and his other ventures at The Fan.
The following part of the show focuses on the recent headlines surrounding the Baltimore Ravens. We analyzed the decision to release Michael Crabtree (44:08) and how it impacts the team’s needs. Then we gave our takes on Tavon Young‘s extension (59:02) and pondered which player could be next in-line for a pay-day, as Jake’s wrote about last week.
Next up, our attention turns to Maryland Terps basketball (1:13:44). We wrapped up Maryland’s 72-62 win over Ohio State, looked ahead to Wednesday’s game at Penn State, and took a peak at Maryland’s outlook for the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.
Last but not least, we wrapped up the show with the numbers segment (1:21:53), taking a look back at the best Baltimore Sports athletes who wore the number 40.
