Podcast Episode 48: Reactions to the Justin Tucker extension & the Capitals heartbreaking OT loss

Welcome to Episode 48 of the Charm City Bird Watch Podcast with site owner Jake McDonnell, editor Nolan McGraw, and author Ian Schultz.

There was a lot to talk about this week and with the NFL draft looming we decided to split things up. Episode 48 will cover all the latest Ravens, Capitals, and Orioles news but we will be saving our draft talk for a special bonus episode that will come out on Sunday.

This week’s episode begins with a follow up on the Ravens schedule that was released after we recorded last week (3:00). We then dive into Justin Tucker’s contract extension and talk about what that does for the Ravens as they prepare to enter 2019 (10:17).

The Capitals reign as Stanley Cup Champions came to an end this week when they lost an intense Game 7 to the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in double overtime. Ian gives us his thoughts less than 24 hours removed from the devastating loss (23:38).

As always the Orioles discussion features our latest players and stinkers of the week (41:30). We also spent some time talking about John Means recent success as a starter (33:08) and Mike Wright being traded to Seattle (34:05).

Episode 48 concludes with the weekly numbers segment (52:11). This week we try to guess the most notable players in Baltimore sports history to wear the number 48.
