Welcome to Episode 53 of the Charm City Bird Watch Podcast with Jake McDonnellNolan McGraw, and Ian Schultz.

Since we began recording Episode 53 minutes after the Tuesday press conference at the Under Armor Performance Center ended, the top of the show focuses on the Ravens announcing two inductions into the team’s Ring of Honor – former head coach Brian Billick in 2019 and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata in 2020 (4:14 SoundCloud, 4:44 other).

After reflecting on Billick and Ngata, the guys touch base on the latest Gerald McCoy rumors (14:45 SoundCloud, 15:15 other) and other stories like Earl Thomas hitting the practice field and Lamar Jackson‘s development as a passer.

Up next, the gang discusses the impact that calling up D.J. Stewart will have on the Orioles roster when Chris Davis or Mark Trumbo is activated off the injured list (29:45 SoundCloud, 30:15 other). You’ll also hear some pre-draft thoughts and some takes on the recent Orioles pitching transactions. As always, the crew will reveal their players and stinkers of the week (38:45 SoundCloud, 39:15 other).

Finally, the show wraps up with the weekly numbers segment where Jake quizzes Nolan and Ian to see if they can remember certain Baltimore Sports athletes who wore number 53 (55:40 SoundCloud, 56:10 other).
