Jake McDonnell – Founder & Author
Born in the Charm City and raised in York, Pennsylvania, Jake McDonnell grew up a Baltimore sports fan. The obsession with the Ravens and the Orioles lasted throughout childhood into high school, with McDonnell often seen wearing purple or orange.
Midway through his freshman year at Bloomsburg University, McDonnell turned his passion into a career, switching his major from Accounting to Mass Communications, with a concentration in Telecommunications and a heavy focus in Journalism. Fast-forward two years later, midway through McDonnell’s junior year, and Charm City Bird Watch was born.
Now a 2018 graduate of Bloomsburg, McDonnell works as an overnight board operator at 105.7 The Fan, a station he’s listened to dating back to attending his first Ravens game with his father in 2006. In addition to covering Baltimore sports for Charm City Bird Watch, McDonnell is the host of the Ebony Bird Podcast, and he writes articles for Ebony Bird as well.
