Born in the Charm City and raised in York, Pennsylvania, Jake McDonnell grew up a Baltimore sports fan. Now a senior at Bloomsburg University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, McDonnell has his sights set on covering the teams that he grew up watching. In his freshman year of college, McDonnell started his own sports blog and eventually decided to create something bigger, and Charm City Bird Watch was born.

At Bloomsburg University, McDonnell serves as a student assistant in the sports information office, covering the Huskies. In the summer of 2017, he completed a sports production internship at WBAL-TV Channel 11 in Baltimore, working with the likes of Gerry Sandusky, Pete Gilbert, and Brett Hollander. He also gained experience working as a volunteer for the Army Navy Game twice (2016, 2017) and with the Lancaster Barnstormers, an independent-league baseball team located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Currently, McDonnell is the sports editor for The VoiceBloomsburg University’s student-run newspaper, and he has done sports talk shows for WBUQ, the university’s student-run radio station. He has also served as the sports editor for BUnow.

Nolan McGraw – Author

Nolan McGraw is currently a senior at Shippensburg University, studying journalism with an English minor. In addition to his studies, Nolan is the web editor for The SlateShippensburg University’s student-run newspaper, where he also covers sports.

Nolan and Jake have known each other since elementary school and always shared a love for the Ravens and Orioles. Daily lunch table discussions about both teams have evolved into Charm City Bird Watch.

Vasilios Nikolaou, 20, is a Baltimore native and an NFL enthusiast. Nikolaou is pursuing a degree in sports broadcasting and communications. He is a junior at the Community College of Baltimore, and will soon transfer to Towson. He is currently an intern at WBAL TV-11, where he met Jake.

Dedicated to all things Baltimore sports, his work has been published at Russell Street Report and The LegacyMaker Sports Network. Aside from Baltimore sports, Vasilios looks to cover the Washington Redskins for The LegacyMaster Sports Network. Previously, he worked on the coaching staff of Calvert Hall College High School football team.

Vasilios also co-hosts weekly episodes of The BackDoor Sports Podcast.

Tyler Feeser – Lead Fantasy Analyst

Tyler Feeser was born and raised in Hanover, Pennsylvania and grew up a huge fan of the Ravens and Orioles. Feeser graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in digital forensics with a minor in information technology management. Since graduating, Feeser has worked in IT security for a defense contractor in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Along with his work, he has a passion for fantasy football, and is looking to help people get their fantasy teams to the next level.

Tyler and Jake met through a mutual friend at Bloomsburg and have become best friends as a result. Whether its attending a sporting event or going to social events with friends, these two communicate regularly and have not missed a beat since Tyler’s graduation.
